Pun Hlaing Hospitals Brings the Community Together for World Heart Day Community Run

Yangon, Myanmar | 3 October 2026 - Yoma-OUE Pun Hlaing Hospitals brought together more than 300 participants for the World Heart Day Community Run on 3 October 2026 at Pun Hlaing Estate, promoting heart health awareness and encouraging healthier lifestyles through physical activity and community participation.

Organised in recognition of World Heart Day, the event aimed to bring people together around a shared commitment to heart health, highlighting the importance of prevention, regular physical activity, and making healthier lifestyle choices. Through the community run, participants had the opportunity to take an active step towards better health while raising awareness of cardiovascular health and its importance to overall well-being.

Featuring 3KM and 5KM running routes, the event welcomed participants of different fitness levels, creating an inclusive environment for individuals, families and members of the wider community to take part. Beyond the run itself, the gathering served as a reminder that building a healthier community begins with small, consistent actions and a collective commitment to well-being.

Heart disease remains a significant global health concern, making awareness and prevention essential. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, avoiding tobacco, and attending appropriate health screenings are important steps in reducing cardiovascular risk. By bringing the community together through an accessible and engaging activity, Pun Hlaing Hospitals sought to encourage conversations about heart health and inspire participants to take greater ownership of their long-term well-being.

The World Heart Day Community Run reflects Pun Hlaing Hospitals’ commitment to extending healthcare beyond hospital walls and supporting a healthier community through education, prevention and meaningful engagement.

Guided by our Purpose to Build a Better Myanmar for its People, Yoma-OUE Pun Hlaing Hospitals Group remains committed to advancing healthcare beyond hospital walls through education, prevention and community engagement. We believe that building a healthier Myanmar starts with empowering people to make informed decisions about their health and ensuring that preventive healthcare remains an essential part of everyday life.
