Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides primary medical care to patients in outpatient, inpatient, and day care patients under supervision of senior medical officers and specialists.
- Assess patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and develop treatment plans.
- Participate in daily ward rounds with the medical team, which may include attending physicians, consultants, senior residents, and other healthcare professionals. During ward rounds, they present patient cases, discuss management plans, and receive feedback and guidance from senior staff.
- Monitor the progress of patients under their care, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment. They identify any changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to senior medical staff /attending physician as necessary.
- Provides health education to the patient and family members and need to document on patientโs Electronic Medical Record (EMR) /Physical Documentation.
- Perform medical procedures, such as venipuncture, wound care, suturing, and basic bedside procedures under supervision of senior medical officers or specialist.
- Assist in surgical procedures and perform minor procedures under supervision of specialist.
- Liaise with patient and family members about the current condition, possible consequences, treatment options and plan of care whenever necessary.
- Work in cooperation with attending specialists and other clinical departments.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss and coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Comply with Hospital Policies, protocols and process on quality and patient safety standards.
- Perform accurate and timely documentation of patient care in EMR.
- Maintain confidentiality on patient records and organization information.
- For police cases, the Medical Officer shall give initial primary care & life saving measures & refer patient to government hospital with proper referral form.
- For notifiable communicable disease, Medical Officer shall follow management guidelines for proper reporting to township health authorities and referral of patient.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Actively participate in regular CME, CPD, Clinical skill training, Mortality & Morbidity meeting and learning courses to keep in touch with up-to-date patient management guidelines.
Job Requirements:
- M.B.B.S or equivalent with M.B.B.S which has been recognized by Myanmar Medical Council
- M.B.B.S with years of experience according to position with valid SAMA.
