Yangon, Myanmar – September 29, 2025 – In celebration of World Heart Day 2025, YOMA – OUE Pun Hlaing Hospitals successfully hosted a special medical symposium titled “New Insights in CVD Management”, aimed at advancing awareness, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). The event took place on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Meliá Hotel Yangon, with the participation of leading medical professionals, healthcare experts, and cardiologists from across Myanmar.

The seminar addressed the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly cardiovascular diseases, in Myanmar. As these conditions continue to increase, the need for effective preventive care, early detection, and evidence-based treatment has become more important than ever. The event served as a key platform for cardiology experts to exchange the latest research, treatment advancements, and practical insights that can improve patient outcomes.
The theme for World Heart Day 2025, “Don’t Miss a Beat,” serves as a global reminder to prioritize heart health through awareness and prevention. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and undergoing regular heart check-ups play a crucial role in preventing heart disease and its complications.

During the seminar, distinguished medical experts from Pun Hlaing Hospitals led a series of presentations and discussions:
Professor Aung Kyaw Zaw, who chaired the seminar, delivered the opening remarks, also spoke on the relationship between mental health and cardiovascular diseases.
Professor Ni Ni Win discussed the importance of timely and continuous management of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
Dr. Thant Zaw Maung shared insights into multi-vessel PCI and the latest innovations in coronary intervention.
Dr. Praveen presented on Structural Heart Disease and emerging treatment technologies.

Following the presentations, attendees actively engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the panelists. The event concluded with artistic performances, followed by a dinner reception for all guests.
